Abstract
The covid-19 or coronavirus pandemic was initially reported in China in the city of Wuhan, dated December 31, 2019. This SARS-CoV-2 virus is defined as a betacoronavirus, compared to MERS- CoV and SARS-CoV, belonging to the family of coronaviruses whose characteristic is to have spikes or known as spikes having a particular crown shape located on their surface, are single-stranded RNA viruses which have a positive sense. The nature of this systematic review is to indicate the problem of environmental contamination in hospitals in Latin America, determining the causes of said problem; this work has a qualitative approach which followed a PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis) systematic review procedure, it is worth mentioning the following, search engine database repositories such as GOOGLE ACADEMICO, SPRINGER LINK, REDALYC were used , PROQUEST, MEDIGRAPHIC and SCIELO, criteria were taken into account for its demarcation: years 2019 to 2022 and in two languages: Spanish and English.
