Resumen
Los hábitos alimenticios inician desde una edad temprana, pero al iniciar la universidad los estudiantes desarrollan cambios en sus estilos de alimentación. La adultez temprana es una etapa de la vida influyente para desarrollar patrones de alimentación saludable. En la región de Áncash, hay escasa información sobre la alimentación de los estudiantes universitarios. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la influencia de los hábitos alimenticios relacionados con el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de Ingeniería Agroindustrial de la Universidad Nacional del Santa. La investigación fue cuantitativa, el diseño empleado fue el descriptivo, con corte transversal. Se realizo un diagnóstico situacional con respecto a los hábitos alimenticios, con el fin de desarrollar estrategias que promuevan una alimentación saludable. Se utilizo la correlación Spearman para evaluar la relación entre el rendimiento académico y los hábitos alimenticios. Los resultados muestran que los hábitos alimenticios tienen una relación directa con el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de Ingeniería Agroindustrial de la Universidad Nacional del Santa siendo, siendo esta relación muy alta (? = 0.940). Los estudiantes universitarios deben dar prioridad a la ingesta de alimentos nutritivos, dado que su alimentación influye de manera directa en su rendimiento académico.
